Montclair, NJ - Montclair State is on the road this week heading down the NJ Turnpike and to the capital of Delaware where it will face Wesley College at Wolverine Stadium.
Last week, Montclair State scored all 21 points in the first quarter and the let its defense do the work as the Red Hawks provided its Homecoming crowd with a 21-7 victory over The College of New Jersey. Senior defensive end
JOE FALATO recorded 3.5 sacks with the Montclair State defense adding a score of its own. Senior running back
JOHN DISTEFANO rushed for 121 yards and a score as MSU racked up eight sacks.
JULANEE PRINCE registered a 47-yard touchdown catch-and-run with
NICK VOLPE scooping up a fumble and returning it 22 yards for the other score.
It was a tale of two halves last Saturday afternoon in Glassboro for Wesley as the Wolverines built up a big lead and withstood a second half run to earn a crucial 24-17 victory over No. 21 Rowan University. Dan Kesack went 15-for-32 for 268 yards and a touchdown through the air. The quarterback also ran for a score. Jamar Baynard rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown while Alex Kemp hauled in four passes for 118 yards including a 62-yard touchdown reception.
This is the sixth meeting between the teams with MSU holding a 4-2 advantage although Wesley has won the last two matcups, including last year's contest at Sprague Field.
