Dickinson Hands Men's Lacrosse Second Straight Loss, 14-7

Schreck, Cunningham, Wulster Two Goals Each for MSU

Carlisle, PA – The Montclair State men's lacrosse team got multiple goals from three different players however it couldn't help the Red Hawks from a second straight loss in a 14-7 setback against Dickinson College on Saturday.

ZACH SCHRECK, BRADY WULSTER and CONNOR CUNNINGHAM each scored twice for MSU, which is off to a 0-2 start for the first time since 2012. Chris Menard registered five goals for the host Red Devils, who remained unbeaten at 3-0.

Menard scored the first two goals of the game, the second with 5:54 left before Wulster got MSU on the board 33 seconds later, finishing off a feed from DON FINN.  Dickinson led 2-1 at the end of the quarter and then got the only score in the second on a goal by Tyler Strods with 77 seconds to go before halftime.

Leading 3-1, Dickinson extended the lead on a goal from Rob Kendall early in the third before the Wulster-Finn connection came through with 10:53 left cutting the deficit to 4-2. Dylan Maher got one back but that was matched by Schreck's power-play tally with 8:19 left. Menard put the next two on the board widening the Dickinson lead to 7-3 before Schreck netted his second as Montclair trailed 7-4 after three.

The Red Devils opened up the fourth with goals by Menard and Chase Phillips making it a five-goal advantage. Montclair would score two of the next three goals to make the score 10-6 with 12:18 to play. Dickinson's Rob Kendall answered 19 seconds later igniting a four-goal run that allowed the Red Devils to pull away. Cunningham got the final score for MSU on a man-up goal with 3:23 left.

Finn had four assists for Montclair State, which got a solid day on faceoffs from Blasé Mantineo, who was 14-of-23 with 10 ground balls. LUCAS JONES had five saves for MSU. Defenseman RYAN YOUNG forced a pair of turnovers and recorded five ground balls. STEVE DANYLUK and RYAN TOTIN had two caused turnovers apiece.

MSU returns to action on Wednesday, March 2 when it hosts Vassar College at Sprague Field in the home opener at 6:00 pm.
