Kissimmee, FL – Sophomore shortstop Tina Ciaccarelli drove in three runs in the second game of the day as Montclair State salvaged a split of its contests at the Rebel Spring Games on Thursday. The Red Hawks (5-3) fell to Bluffton 10-1 before bouncing back with a 6-1 triumph over Beloit College.

VICTORIA GEHRING had three hits and an RBI for MSU in the win against Beloit (1-7). Ciacciarelli and
BROOKE POWERS had two hits apiece to back the pitching of freshman righthander
SAM KEATING, who improved to 2-1 on the year. Keating struck out five and allowed a run and eight hits in six innings.
ALI WALEK finished up with a scoreless seventh inning.
Montclair scored two runs in each of the first two innings. Gehring led off the game with a single and stole second before coming around to score on Powers' RBI single.
LIA STAMILE added a run-scoring double two batters later for a 2-0 MSU advantage.
Ciacciarelli made the score 3-0 in the second as she drove in Walek with a base hit. Walek led off with a triple. After an out and sacrifice, Gehring smacked a single to center giving the Red Hawks a four-run advantage.
Ciacciarelli accounted for the final two runs in the third with a two-run single that scored Walek and
LAUREN BOOTH.
Jose McElroy smacked a pair of home runs and drove in five as Bluffton handed Montclair its second consecutive loss earlier in the day. Bluffton (4-3) scored four time in the first inning and added two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings.
MSU's lone run crossed the plate in the bottom of the fifth as Powers scampered home on a wild pitch.
Stamile was 3-for-3 for the Red Hawks.
Montclair State wraps up action in the Rebel Spring Games on Friday, March 11 with an 11:15 am game with Defiance College followed by a 1:30 pm matchup with Farmingdale State.
