Montclair, NJ - Senior midfielder Matt Ferentini scored with 3:21 remaining and freshman goalkeeper Carson White made two saves in the closing minutes as No. 16 Stevens snapped Montclair State's three-game winning streak with an 8-7 win at Sprague Field on Wednesday evening.
Ferentini and John Boutureira each scored twice as the Ducks improved to 8-2 on the season while also knotting up the all-time series between the in-state rival at 19-19.
BRADY WULSTER scored twice and assisted on another goal for the Red Hawks, who fell to 4-6 on the year. Four of Montclair's six losses have come against teams ranked in the Top 20 including top-ranked Salisbury and No. 2 RIT.
The two teams were never separated by more than a goal and were knotted up at 6-6 heading into the fourth.
DON FINN scored on an unassisted tally 3:04 into the period but that was answered at the midway point of the quarter when Tommy Dawson found Eric Radbourne on a power-play goal forging the seventh tie of the game.

LUCAS JONES each came up with saves over the next two minutes before the Ducks moved in front. Connor O'Shea fired a pass from the left wing into the middle for Ferentini, who deposited the feed in the net giving Stevens just its third lead of the game.
Montclair State won the ensuing faceoff and got off a pair of shots, the second stopped by White with 2:07 left. The Ducks then turned the ball over inside the final minute.
CONNOR CUNNINGHAM put a shot wide and Finn on a flat angle clanged on off the crossbar. White then came up with the last of his 15 saves, stopping Zack Schreck with 20 seconds.
Stevens tried a long clear to run out the clock however Luke Nealson intercepted the pass with 14 seconds left giving the Red Hawks one last chance. Montclair quickly got into the attack zone however it could not get a shot off as time expired.
Jones made 16 saves for Montclair State, which got two goals apiece from Schreck and Finn.
BLASE MANTINEO was 14-of-19 on faceoffs for the Red Hawks with three ground balls.
STEVE DANYLUK and
RYAN TOTIN each had two caused turnovers.
MSU is now off until Saturday, April 9 when it opens up Skyline Conference play. The seven-time defending champion Red Hawks host Stockton University at 3:00 pm. It will be a rematch of last season's conference championship game won by Montclair.
