CHRISTINE MAYORGA scored three goals and added an assist while senior
JENNIE HORNSTRA tallied twice as Montclair State rolled once to its second straight win, knocking off Elmira 8-0 in the Mount St. Mary Tournament on Friday evening.
Sophomore

EMILY BEENDERS each had a goal and assist for the Red Hawks (3-0-1), who advance to the championship game of the tournament on Saturday, September 10 at 7pm against host Mount St. Mary.
The Red Hawks did not produce a goal in their first two matches this season, however it has more than made up for it in the last two with 14 goals. Conversely, Montclair has not allowed a goal in its
four contests.
Hornstra put MSU on the board 3:57 into the contest taking a long ball from the midfield by Koester for the game's first goal. Hornstra scored again less than two minutes later off a feed from
EMMA MCLAUGHLIN before Mayorga got the first of her three goals in the 17
th minute.
TYLER MADISON got the assist and then switched roles with Mayorga in the 33
rd minute for a 4-0 MSU advantage.
Mayorga put back a rebounds off the cross bar with six minutes left in the half as Montclair led 5-0 at the break.
The Red Hawks scored three times during a six-minute span in the second half to complete its scoring. Beenders scored off a feed from
ALEX GLICKMAN in the 52
nd minute with Koester taking a pass from
KATIE IANNUZZI at 54:57 making the score 6-0. Mayorga registered the hat trick less than three minutes later.
Senior
ALYSON BURNS posted the shutout, her third this season.
