Bethlehem, PA – For the third consecutive match a Terci figured into all the scoring, although this time it was
RAFAEL TERCI recording a pair of goals lifting Montclair State to a 3-0 victory over Moravian College on Monday evening.
Senior
LUCAS TERCI collected his nation-leading 12
th goal of the season as the Red Hawks improved to 7-2 in taking the first meeting between the teams in seven years. Montclair has now won all three contests, including 2-1 win in 1991 and a 4-0 triumph in 2009.
LUCAS TERCI, the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week continued his torrid scoring pace with the game's first goal in the 33
rd minute. Senior
DAMIAN BZIUKIEWICZ picked up the assist as MSU snapped the scoreless tie. The goal was the 47
th career for Terci, who moved into second place on the all-time points list with 132. He surpassed John Ioannu (1982-84) for the No. 2 position.
That goal would carry into the second half and to the 70-minute mark before Montclair extended the lead with the first of
RAFAEL TERCI's two goals. Less than six minutes later, Rafael scored again off an assist from
MIKE TARANTO.
Sophomore goalkeeper
MIKE SAALFRANK made the lead hold up as he stopped four shots for his third shutout of the season.
The Red Hawks outshot the Greyhounds (4-2), 17-6 in the game. Brian Yaskowski had six saves for Moravian.
Montclair is now off until Saturday, September 24 when it hosts Rutgers-Camden in a rematch of the last two NJAC Championship Games at 7:00 pm at MSU Soccer Park.
