AMBER HASLETT remained red hot with two goals while freshman
KELLY WATSON added a goal and assist as No. 10 Montclair State completed a two-game sweep in the Drew Fall Festival with a 4-0 blanking of Lebanon Valley College on Sunday.
Senior
ARIELLE GALGANO had a goal and assist for the Red Hawks, who improved to 3-0 on the season.
Galgano got Montclair State on the board quickly with her second goal of the season at the 2:02 mark.
MEGHAN MOLLAHAN got the assist. Watson netted her first career goal just over two minutes later sweeping in a shot after taking a feed from Struss making the score 2-0.
Haslett made it a three-goal lead in the first seven minutes with her fifth goal of the year. Watson fed Haslett a long pass into the circle. Haslett then fired a sharp angle shot into a crowded area that clipped off a defender's stick into the cage.
Haslett added one more at 23:52 with Galgano registering the assist. The goal was the sixth of the year for Haslett matching her season total from a year ago (19 games).
Meanwhile the MSU defense held Lebanon Valley (1-1) without a shot for the first 35 minutes. Starting keeper
KAITLIN MAGUIRE stopped one shot in the second half before departing with 14:54 to play. Freshman
KAITLIN MOYLE closed out the Red Hawks' first shutout of the year.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, September 7 hosting New Paltz at Sprague Field beginning at 7:00 pm. MSU will be looking to avenge a 2-1 loss to the Hawks last season.
