Montclair, NJ – Senior midfielder 
LUCAS TERCI scored a hat trick while brother 
RAFAEL TERCI added a goal and assist as No. 14 Montclair State bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 7-0 triumph over CCNY at MSU Soccer Park on Monday.
STEVEN ZAMUDIO added a goal and assist for the Red Hawks (3-1), who scored all seven goals during a first-half barrage. Montclair improved to 18-1 all-time against the Beavers (1-2).
JOHN STARNER gave the Red Hawks a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest heading in a pass from 
KEVIN SIMEK. Montclair would get several chances to extend the lead but CCNY keeper Maxwell Berkow came up with several outstanding saves, including a pair of quick reaction rebound stops.
Freshman 
MATTHEW GOTRELL got the lead to 2-0 at 8:12 of the first half with his first collegiate goal. CCNY would get a golden opportunity to cut the deficit in half with a penalty kick in the 22
nd minute however MSU keeper 
MIKE SAALFRANK denied Anthony Scarallo with a diving stop. Moments later, 
RAFAEL TERCI scored unassisted at 22:54 for a three-goal lead.
LUCAS TERCI took over from there scoring three times in an eight-minute span. He headed in a corner kick from 
COLLIN MULLIGAN at 33:03 and scored 3:27 later off a feed from Zamudio. Terci completed his first career hat trick with 3:38 left in the period knocking in a pass from 
ROB CHERNEZ.
Zamudio accounted for the final goal 1:17 later with 
MICHAEL CZYRNEK getting the assist.
Montclair outshot CCNY 21-2. Saalfrank and 
TAYLOR CULP combined on the shutout, MSU's second this season.
The Red Hawks, who played three times in the last three days, will get a day off before returning to action on Wednesday, September 7 at home against Hunter College beginning at 5:00 pm.
