Men's Soccer Slips Past Hunter, 3-2

Terci Two Goals as Red Hawks Win Second Straight

Montclair, NJ – Senior LUCAS TERCI scored twice and the Montclair State men's soccer team got a fortunate bounce on a clear as the No. 14 Red Hawks slipped past Hunter College, 3-2 at MSU Soccer Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior midfielder DAMIAN BZIUKIEWICZ had an assist as MSU (4-1) won its second straight game while improving to 11-0 all-time against the Hawks (0-2-1).

Terci continued his hot scoring streak with the first of his two goals just 1:44 into the contest. Bziukiewicz drove in along the left side before lofting a pass across the goalmouth. The pass fell perfectly onto the head of Terci, who tucked the shot inside the right post for the 1-0 lead.

Terci added to the lead in the 26th minute with an unassisted tally but Hunter halved the deficit at 33:08. Itamar Pereira found Aiden Tucker for the score pulling the Hawks within 2-1.

MSU outshot Hunter 17-4 in the first half and allowed just two shots in the second. But it was one of those two that found the back of the net. Jesus Patino Muniz scored in the 69th minute knotting the match a 2-2.

The Red Hawks would go ahead with 11:11 remaining. Off a corner kick, Hunter attempted to clear the ball out. But the clear went backward into the net instead of forward giving Montclair a 3-2 lead.

Paul Alain Yovoh Tenfoung made 11 saves for Hunter.

Montclair State is now off until Saturday, September 10 when it hosts in-state rival Stevens at 7:00 pm.
