Hoboken, NJ – Freshman
SIYARA HERBERT put down a season-high 15 kills as Montclair State swept past Union College for a split of its two matches at the Stevens Invitational on Saturday. The Red Hawks (12-12) fell to the host Ducks, 3-1 earlier in the day.
Herbert hit .361 and added 16 digs and four blocks as Montclair downed the Dutchwomen 25-14, 27-25 and 28-26.
NATALIA MAJKUT added 10 kills with
JILLIAN WILSON and
APRIL DIANGELO added nine and eight, respectively. Junior
ASHLEY GRIFFITH recorded a double-double with 37 assists and 12 digs while libero
LILY SCANZILLO had 20 digs.
Freshman
SARAH GONCZLIK had nine kills in the loss to Stevens as the Ducks posted the victory 25-18, 25-15, 24-26, 25-11. Herbert added eight with Majkut registering six. Scanzillo and DiAngelo went for 19 and 17 digs respectively. Griffith totaled 26 assists along with nine digs.
Montclair State returns to action on Tuesday, October 17 with a non-conference contest at home against Moravian College. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
