CLAIRE LUIGARD won three individual events while NJAC Rookie of the Week
GENNA BREWER added two as the Montclair State women posted a historic victory on Friday evening knocking off The College of New Jersey 167-132 at the Panzer Athletic Center Pool.

GRACE NIELSEN broke two school records helping the Red Hawks to their third win of the season (3-1). MSU (1-0 NJAC) won 10 of the 16 events contested as it beat the Lions for the first time in over three decades and the first time under head coach Brian McLaughlin.
Montclair got off to a good start winning the 200 medley relay as
ERIN CANNON, Luigard,
MARGAUX WINCHOCK and
MADISON FRANKE recorded a time of 1:53.61. The Red Hawks swept the top 3 places in the 200 freestyle as Brewer won with a time of 2:00.28 followed by Franke (2:01.30) and
EMILY ROTHAMEL (2:03.70). Cannon picked up a win in the 100 backstroke and Luigard earned the first of her three victories winning the 100 breaststroke (1:11.12).
Franke took first in the 50 freestyle (25.54) while Brewer added a second win in the 100 freestyle (54.60). Rothamel and Cannon went 1-2 in the 200 backstroke with times of 2:15.02 and 2:15.48 respectively. Winchock collected a win in the 100 butterfly (1:00.67) with Luigard claiming the 200 breaststroke (2:34.42) and 200 individual medley (2:18.62).
Nielsen placed second in both one-meter diving sections in the process etching her named into the Montclair State record books. Nielsen registered a score of 259.20 in the 6-dive optional round to break Kim Roy's 1997 mark of 236.70 set against USMMA. She would go on to scored 189.50 points in the voluntaries for an 11-dive total of 448.7 points shattering Roy's mark of 413.35 points at the 1997 Metropolitan Championships.
PONSEE IBRAHIM finished right behind Nielsen with scored of 183.95 (optionals) and 145.95 (voluntaries).
The Red Hawks historic night was capped off with a victory in the 400 freestyle as Winchock,
CHRISTINA CUSMANO, Rothamel and Brewer recorded a time of 3:42.76.
Montclair State returns to action on Thursday, November 2 with another NJAC contest. MSU heads to Union to face Kean University at 6:00 pm.
