BLAKE SAPERSTEIN drove in four runs as Montclair State finished out its Florida trip with a split of its final two contests at the Rebel Spring Games.
The Red Hawks fell in eight innings to Bridgewater College 7-6 before knocking off Cornell College, 8-6. MSU heads back home with a record of 5-5 with three losses by one run including a pair of extra-inning defeats.
Against Bridgewater, Montclair fell behind 4-0 but climbed back in to the game in the third as

ALANA LUNA with a ground out. The Red Hawks then tied the game in the fifth with three runs. Saperstein had the first with an RBI single and
ELENA RADESICH added an RBI on a base hit before a sacrifice fly by
VALENTINA CUCCI knotted the game at 5-5.
In the eighth, the Eagles scored three times, including twice on an error that would have ended the inning. The miscue proved big as the Red Hawks answered with two runs in its half. Hodgins had one of those with Saperstein driving in
VICTORIA GEHRING on a double making the score 7-6.
But Bridgewater pitcher Carolyn Campbell stranded the tying run at second getting a fly out to end the game. Campbell (1-1) picked up the win in relief going the final three innings. Cucci (0-1) took the loss with 6 2/3 inninngs of four-hit relief. She struck out two and walked two.
Hodgins, Radesich, Saperstein and Gehring had two hits apice for Montclair.
Saperstein's RBI single in the first inning of the second contest put MSU in front however Cornell College answered in the bottom half of the inning. Montclair opened up a 5-1 lead in the second.
KAYLEE POWERS had a sacrifice fly with an error on the play allowing a second run to cross. Hodgins brought home a run with a ground out before Saperstein doubled home Gehring for the four-run lead.
Cornell College tied the game in the fourth with three runs, two coming in on an error that tied the game at 6-6.
The Red Hawks retook the lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Gehring and added an insurance run in the seventh with a run-scoring double by Powers.
Freshman
NICOLE MAJEWSKI made that stand up as she went the distance in upping her record to 2-1. The righthander allowed six runs (one earned) and 10 hits, striking out three and walking one.
Powers, Saperstein and Samantha DiClementi each had two hits for the Red Hawks.
Montclair State is scheduled to be in action at home for the first time on Thursday, March 16 against Drew University at 3:00 pm.
