FRANCESCA VERRONE and Aviana Parragio scored five of Montclair State's eight goals in the second half as the Red Hawks posted their fifth consecutive win with a 12-10 victory against Fredonia on Saturday afternoon.
CHELSEA ORBAN had four goals as the Red Hawks overcame a four-goal deficit in the game to improve to 6-1 on the year.
Montclair State fell behind 3-0 and trailed 6-2 with 2:34 left in the first half after Audrey Yokopovich registered her second goal of the game. Orban scored the next two getting MSU within 6-4 however Yokopovich added her third with seven seconds left giving the Blue Devils a 7-4 lead at the break.
The Red Hawks stormed out the in the second half with the first three goals, tying the game at 7-7 on an unassisted goal by
NATALIE BADE with 23:50 to play. Yokopovich and Verrone traded goals and Fredonia went back in front with 17:30 left on a goal by Katie Miller.
LINDSAY LARE ignited a three-goal run by the Red Hawks who led 11-9 after Paraggio scored off a feed from
KYLE GRAVER with 8:24 to go. Miller got the Blue Devils within one but Verrone's tally with 3:27 remaining put MSU up 12-10.
Graver finished with two assists for Montclair while Verrone pulled in four draws.
AMANDA MAGUIRE made 11 stops for MSU.
The Red Hawks take on host College at Brockport on Sunday, March 26 at Noon.
