CHELSEA ORBAN scored the final three goals in a game-ending five-goal burst by Montclair State lifting the Red Hawks to a 13-8 victory over Rowan University at Sprague Field on Saturday afternoon.

FRANCESCA VERRONE scored seven times as the Red Hawks improved to 8-4 on the year, 1-1 in the NJAC. Maddie Bray had two goals for the Profs (8-4, 1-1 NJAC), which had their three-game winning streak snapped.
In a game of ebbs and flows, it was Montclair riding the final one after Rowan tied the game at 8-8 with 20:42. Verrone put MSU back in front with 17:41 to go and a goal by
LINDSAY LARE made it 10-8 with 14 minutes remaining.
Orban then took over with the final three goals, the first coming with 13:04 to play with the second coming with just over six minutes left extending the lead to 12-8. Orban all but nailed down the game on her third goal with 4:44 left as MSU captured its second straight win against the Profs and just its sixth in 30 all-time meetings.
Verrone netted the first two goals of the game and her third with 17 minutes left in the first half gave Montclair a 5-1 advantage. Rowan closed the gap to 5-4 before Verrone collected her fourth with 1:43 remaining. Rowan's Megan Donnelly scored just before the halftime horn as the Red Hawks took a 6-5 lead into the break.
Verrone would get the first two goals of the second half allowing MSU to widen its lead to 8-5 however the Profs answered with a three-goal run of their own knotting the contest with 20:42 on Bray's second goal.
Verrone, who scored all seven goals on seven shots, added three draws and two caused turnovers with freshman goalkeeper
AMANDA MAGUIRE stopping 14 shots along with six ground balls.
KYLE GRAVER picked up two assists.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, April 18 hosting Ramapo College at 7:00 pm.
