Wenham, MA – Sophomore forward DIMITRI MATARAS scored with 6:35 remaining in regulation lifting Montclair State to a 1-0 victory at Gordon College on Friday evening.

Junior MIKE SAALFRANK stopped three shots as the Red Hawks posted their seventh straight season-opening victory.

Mataras, making his collegiate debut, snapped the scoreless contest as he finished off a feed from RAFAEL TERCI. The Fighting Scots would get one last chance to tie the game however Ben Gradert's shot with four seconds remaining went wide.
 
The Red Hawks head to Endicott College on Sunday, September 3 for a Noon matchup against the Gulls.
