Staten Island, NY – The Montclair State women's soccer team made it a weekend sweep of games as the Red Hawks blanked College of Staten Island, 2-0 at the CSI Soccer Complex on Sunday.

KAITLYN SCRIVANICH and MICHAELA KNOBLOCK combined on all the scoring as MSU won back-to-back contests for the first time this season and also moved over the .500 mark at 4-3-2.

All of the scoring in the 90 minute contest took place inside a span of 2:28 of the first half.

Scrivanich got the first one as she stuffed in a crossing pass from Knoblock at 39:58 giving the Red Hawks a 1-0 lead. Two minutes later the two reversed roles in almost the same fashion with Scrivanich serving a ball from the left side to the far post where Knoblock was able to bang in the feed for a two-goal MSU advantage.

Meanwhile the Montclair State defense kept the Dolphins (6-2-1) in check allowing just seven total shots in the game, including one in the first half that was stopped by PHOEBE BLEDSOE, who finished with five saves and recorded her first career shutout in just her second straight start.  

The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, September 27 with an NJAC contest at Kean University. Montclair, currently 2-0 in the league, will square off with the Cougars at Alumni Stadium beginning at 7:30 pm.
