Montclair, NJ - Freshman
CHAZ BURNETT posted a hat trick along with an assist as Montclair State exploded for a 7-3 victory over Kean University at MSU Soccer Park Wednesday evening.Â
Sophomore
DEVAUGHN FOSTER added two goals as the Red Hawks (6-3-1) recorded seven goals in a game for the third time this season. Montclair improved to 2-1 on the year.
Junior forward
RAFAEL TERCI opened up the scoring when he hit a curling sublime free-kick from 30-yards out in the 13th minute. Kean knotted the game  in the 26th minute, thanks to an Alex Noriega penalty-kick. The Cougars took the lead in the 32nd minutes as Noriega delivered a beautiful cross to inside the box where Nicholas Sica was able to head the ball past goalkeeper

MSU returned the favor when an unmarked Burnett scored a header in the 40th from
STEFAN KOROMAN's right wing cross. The freshman playmaker later scored his second of the match pouncing on a loose ball inside the box three minutes before half as Montclair State, which was outshot 10-8 in the first halfl, ed 3-2 at the half.Â
The Red Hawks wasted little time adding on to the lead when Korman finished Terci's flick to the back post in the 50th minute for a 4-2 advantage. The Cougars got one back when Noriega scored on a laser from Sica's in the 62nd minute..
Foster registered the next two goals with the first coming in the 67th minute with freshman
GUISEPPE MARGIOTTIELLOÂ picking up the assist. He added the second in the 75th minute taking a feed from Burnett and chipping a ball over the keeper from 25 yards out for a 6-3 MSU lead.
Burnett completed his first career hat-trick in the '86 when he toe-poked a
JAKE SEAMAN pass in the back of the net for the final Red Hawk goal.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, September 30 when 8-1-1 Stockton University visits MSU Soccer Park at 7:00 PM
