Prestinari Scores Game-Winner on Penalty Stroke in Second OT

Galloway, NJ – Freshman KAITLYN PRESTINARI scored on a penalty stroke 50 seconds into the second overtime as No. 5 Montclair State slipped past Stockton University, 1-0 in its NJAC opener on Saturday afternoon.

The Ospreys would even the score with just under five minutes remaining. Britney Stein got the goal tapping in a shot off a scrum in near the cage.

That 1-1 held up through the next 35 minutes and through the first 15-minute overtime period. MSU took seven of the nine shots in the first OT and came close to winning the contest in the 76th minute. KAITLYN STRUSS fired a shot that was knocked away by Alexa Massa on a defensive save as the contest moved into the second OT.

Prestinari ended things quickly scoring on the penalty stroke, her second successful conversion this season.
