Mahwah, NJ – Sophomore
CLAIRE LUIGARD won three individual events while the men's team recorded three different double-winners as Montclair State swept its NJAC dual meet with Ramapo College on Saturday.
The Red Hawks women improved to 7-2 overall (3-1 NJAC) with a 153-109 victory over the Roadrunners with the men posting a 149-113 triumph upping their recorded to 5-3 on the year (1-2 NJAC).
Luigard swept the breaststroke event winning the 100 in a time of 1:10.76 before coming back to take the 200 event at 2:33.89. She would add her third victory in the 200 individual medley, clocking in at 2:17.21.
COURTNEY MUNRO and
SOPHIA CIARAVINO finished 1-2 in the 1000 freestyle with times of 12:05.83 and 12:06.69, respectively. Freshman
GENNA BREWER was twice a winner taking the 200 freestyle (1:59.45) and 100 freestyle (54.77). Munro also posted a second win finishing off a sweep of the long-distance freestyle event in the 500 with a time of 5:43.90.
MARGAUX WINCHOCK claimed the final individual win for the Red Hawks taking first place in the 100 butterfly (1:01.53) with MSU taking the top spot in the 400 freestyle relay.

CHRISTINA CUSMANO and Brewer combined on a winning time of 3:44.26.
For the men, senior
STEVEN ROTH once again swept the butterfly events winning the 200 in a time of 1:57.51 and the 100 event in 51.69 seconds.
CHARLES COBBERTT led a 1-2 finish for Montclair in the 200 freestyle clocking in at 1:48.48, a touch ahead of
KEVIN GIBSON (1:49.09). Cobbertt later swam 22.16 seconds to win the 500 freestyle.
KEVIN CLAUSS won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:14.77 and was victorious in the 200 IM at 2:03.29.
Gibson later added his own win in the 100 freestyle (48.84) with
MICHAEL PACHECO taking top honors in the 1000 freestyle (10:19.59).
JAMES SINGEWALD swam 54.30 in the 100 backstroke to capture that event. Gibson,
KEVIN HENNINGSEN, Pacheco and
BRENDAN TURNER combined to win the 400 freestyle relay clocking in at 3:18.95
The Red Hawks return to action next Saturday with their final conference dual meet. Montclair will host local rival William Paterson at the Panzer Pool beginning at 1:00 pm.
