Jersey City, NJ – The Montclair State women's soccer team did all of its scoring in the first half as the Red Hawks won their third straight with a 5-0 victory over New Jersey City at the Thomas M. Gerrity Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman
MADISON MARTINO had two goals and two assists for the Red Hawks (9-2-3), who recorded their second consecutive 5-0 win. Montclair State also improved to 4-1-1 in the NJAC.

EMILY BEENDERS netted her 11
th goal of the season powering through the Gothic Knights keeper after taking a through ball from Martino, who extended the lead to 2-0 six minutes later knocking in a long ball from
MICHAELA KNOBLOCK.
Martino and Beenders reversed roles on the third goal with Martino scoring her second of the game and third of the season at 24:11.
MADDIE MUSICO made the score 4-0 with 14:01 left in the first half scoring her first of the season.
KAITLYN SCRIVANICH set up the final goal in the 40
th minute with a perfect pass to
GABRIELLE TANCREDI who collected her fifth goal of the season.
LINDSAY FREEWALT and
PHOEBE BLEDSOE combined on the shutout with Freewalt making one stop. The shutout was Montclair State's eighth of the season.
The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, October 13 hosting Stockton University at MSU Soccer Park with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm.
