Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team squares off against The College of New Jersey in the semifinals of the 2018 New Jersey Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship on Wednesday, October 31.
Tickets for the game are $5 for general admission, $2 for students, children and seniors.
The first 50 MSU Students will receive FREE admission with ID.
MSU (15-2) and TCNJ (13-3) battle for the second time this season at Sprague Field beginning at 7pm. The winner advances to the conference championship game on Saturday, November 3 at the site of the highest remaining seed. Top-seeded Rowan and No. 4 seed Stockton University meet in the other semifinal.
The Red Hawks earned the home game for this round thanks in part to its 2-1 overtime victory in Ewing back on October 13. Senior
VICTORIA ROSSI scored both goals including the game-winner in overtime giving Montclair State just its 10
th victory against the Lions in 78 all-time meetings. Montclair finished 5-1 in conference play, a game in front of TCNJ (4-2).
TCNJ has won three in a row by a combined 17-1 score entering the semifinal game including a 4-1 win over Stockton in the regular-season finale on Saturday. New Jersey boasts a quartet of double-digit goal scorers led by Cayla Andrews, who has 16 goals and 37 points on the season. Kayla Peterson is next at 13 goals and 35 points with Tori Tiefenthaler added 14 goals and 34 points. Tori Hannah is fourth at 10 goals and 23 points. In goal, junior Maddie Beaumont has five shutouts and 55 saves while sporting a 0.94 goals against average in 16 contests.

AMBER HASLETT sets the pace for scoring with 26 points on nine goals and eight assists. Rossi is next with eight goals while sophomore
ELIZABETH CIMILLUCA is tied for the team lead in assists with eight along with three goals (14 points).
KAILEY DALGAUER and
KELLY WATSON round out MSU's double-figure scorers at 12 and 11 points, respectively. Junior
NICOLE ANDRIANI has made 76 saves and registered six shutouts along with a 1.28 goals against average.
Wednesday's contest will be the fourth between the squads in the NJAC Tournament that began play in 2011. The Lions defeated Montclair 2-0 that season with the Red Hawks taking the 2013 title with a 1-0 win at Sprague Field. The two matched up in the 2016 NJAC title contest with TCNJ prevailing 1-0.
