Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's soccer team, ranked 17
th in Division III by the United Soccer Coaches and 19
th by D3Soccer.com, extended its winning streak to 10 as the Red Hawks blanked New Jersey City University 4-0 at MSU Soccer Park on Tuesday evening.
JOSE HUERTA netted his 10
th goal of the season as MSU upped its record to 13-1-1 on the season while remaining perfect in the NJAC at 6-0. Aldahir Cazun had 10 saves for NJCU which dropped to 5-7, 0-6 in conference play.
It took Montclair just 95 seconds to put the first goal on the board. A failed clear by the Gothic Knights found its way on to the foot of
RAFAEL TERCI, who dribbled to within a yard of the box before sliding a pass down low to Huerta. The latter then blasted a shot back to the far post for the score and the 1-0 MSU lead.
The lead went to 2-0 in the 36
th minute as
CHAZ BURNETT scored hit ninth of the year.
ANTHONY PELAEZ served a ball from the top right corner of the box down to the six where Burnett was able to flick the ball past a charging Cazun.
Leading by two at the break, Montclair extended the lead six-plus minutes into the second half. Terci drove down to the left end line and pushed a pass to the middle of the six where
COLIN MULLIGAN fired a shot inside the right post for his second goal of the season.

BRENT LLEWELLYN got the final goal with 1:44 remaining knocking a shot into the upper right corner after taking a short feed from
DIMITRI MATARAS.
MIKE SAALFRANK stopped one shot in recording his sixth shutout of the season.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, October 13 with a road trip to Galloway, NJ. The Red Hawks take on Stockton University at 3:00 pm.
