MYLES MITCHELL-WHITE scored 20 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team as Montclair State edged Virginia Wesleyan, 80-77 in the Steel Club Classic at Moravian College on Monday evening.

EDDIE EMEDOH added 19 points and nine rebounds as the Red Hawks rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to improve to 10-4 on the season. Lamont Steward led all scorers with 26 points for the Marlins (5-7).
MSU led by small margins in the first half before Virginia Wesleyan took the lead at 18-6 with nine minutes to play and widened it to a 36-25 margin with 3:15 left after Tim Fisher hit the first of two foul shots. The Marlins led by 10 with 14 seconds left before
JOSEPH RADI drained a three-pointer sending Montclair into the locker room down 40-33.
Montclair scored the first eight points of the second half regaining the lead on a tip-in by
JORDAN ROBERSON for a 41-40 advantage. The lead would change hands seven times over the next minutes before MSU took the lead for the final time 59-57 with 6:55 to play on another Radi three-pointer.
Emedoh hit two at the foul line to bump the lead to 63-57 and a three by
IRVING CALLENDER IV along with a jumper by Mitchell-White put the Red Hawks in front 70-61 with four minutes remaining. Virginia Wesleyan would cut the lead to 77-74 with 16 seconds left on a three-pointer by Corey Pelham.
Emedoh all but sealed the victory making two free throws with six seconds left. Callender got the final point on a free throw with one second to go.
Mitchell-White (12-of-16 FTs) added four rebounds and six assists with Callender finishing with 10 points and six rebounds. Radi added nine points and
JUSTIN PORTER tallied six points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Montclair State is back in action on Saturday, January 5 as it resumes New Jersey Athletic Conference play. The Red Hawks will be in Glassboro, NJ for a 3:00 pm matchup at Rowan University.
