Montclair Pulls Away From Delaware Valley for Second Straight Win, 14-6

Francisco, Wulster Three Goals Each as Red Hawks Down Aggies

Doylestown, PASKYLER FRANCISCO and BRADY WULSTER each scored three goals as Montclair State captured its second straight victory with a 14-6 win over Delaware Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

MATT HAEMMERLE and ROB PAPA collected two goals apiece as the Red Hawks moved to 3-2 on the season. Chris Coyle netted three goals for the Aggies, who fell to 2-6.

The teams traded goals in the early in the game and did again at the midpoint of the opening period before Montclair State netted two late for a 4-2 lead. Francisco scored with 2:17 to play and Wulster beat the end of period horn.

Del Val's Matt Waibel began the second with a goal which was matched by Papa with 8:49 to go before halftime making thes core 5-3. Coyle cut the deficit to 5-4 with 2:37 left however Papa's second goal a minute later helped the Red Hawks to a 6-4 advantage at the break.

MSU took control in the third quarter scoring the first four goals. BRYAN PETERS set up Wulster for the first and Mike Waslik added another before Francisco's man-up tally with 9:55 to play boosted the lead to 9-4. Haemmerle finished off the run and after the Aggies got one back, STEVE PRINCE and DAN BELLEZZA each found the back of the net giving Montclair and 11-5 lead heading into the final period.

Peters finished with three assists for MSU, which got 13 saves from sophomore goalkeeper JACK CARDEW. Montclair outshot Delaware Valley, 54-34.

The Red Hawks are back in action on Saturday, March 31 hosting Stockton University at Sprague Field beginning at 1:00 pm.
