Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State softball team's recent offensive outburst continued on Sunday as the Red Hawks scored 25 runs in a sweep of New Jersey City at the MSU Softball Stadium.
Junior Samantha DiClementi drove in five runs and sophomore 
KAYLEE POWERS homered for the third straight game as Montclair extended its winning streak to seven games with an 8-1 and 17-0 victory. MSU is now 23-9 on the season, 9-5 in conference play.
Powers got Montclair State on the board in the board in the second inning of the opener with a sacrifice fly that scored DiClementi. The Gothic Knights (4-26, 0-14 NJAC) tied the game in the third as Hannah Gavin came home on an error.
Catcher 
ALANA LUNA gave MSU the led in the third with an RBI single and DiClementi made it a 4-1 lead with a two-run double. Powers' fifth home run the season the next inning made it a four-run lead and 
ELENA RADESICH singled home 
VICTORIA GEHRING for a 6-1 advantage.
Gehring added an RBI of her own in the sixth with Radesich getting the final run on a base hit in the same inning.
Righthander 
COURTNEY POLITZ got the victory in relief as she allowed a hit in recording the final 12 outs. Politz improved to 2-1.  Powers finished 3-for-3 while Gehring and Radesich were each 2-for-3. DiClementi was 2-for-4.
In the nightcap, Montclair pounded out 21 hits as six players had two or more including freshman 
AMBER POWERS who was 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Gehring was 3-for-3 with three RBI and DiClementi also drove in three runs.
The Red Hawks put the game away in the bottom of the first inning with eight runs as they sent 12 batters to the plate. Radeisch had the first RBI with a single and Luna made it 3-0 with a two-run double. DiClementi followed with a two-run double for a 5-0 advantage and a triple by 
GABBY SLADE extended the lead to six runs. Gehring finished off the scoring with her second hit of the inning, a base hit to center delivering the final two runs.
The run support was more than enough for righthander 
NICOLE MAJEWSKI (10-1), who picked up her 10
th win of the season. She allowed four hits and struck out two before sophomore 
KIARA RUIZ registered a pair of strikeouts in the final inning.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, April 24 at home against Ramapo College beginning at 3:00 pm.
