Bristol, RI – The Montclair State volleyball team dropped its first two matches at the Roger Williams Invitational on Friday evening. The Red Hawks fell to Trine University in four sets and suffered a three-set loss against host Roger Williams.
Freshman
CARLY WATERMAN posted 14 kills and 15 digs in her collegiate debut as Trine knocked off the Red Hawks 25-17, 22-25, 25-19, 25-17.
LEAH HIGGINS,
JILLIAN WILSON and
NATALIA MAJKUT had six kills apiece with
CAITLIN LANGE adding five kills.
Sophomore
MEGAN O'ROURKE registered a double-double of 12 assists and 18 digs while senior
ASHLEY GRIFFITH led MSU with 22 assists along with eight digs. Sophomore
ALEXANDRA CAMPOS recorded a team-best 23 digs.
Junior
SCHYLER WHITE posted five kills and four digs in the loss to Roger Williams. Griffith notched seven assists with Campos totaling 11 digs.
The Red Hawks close out action in the tournament on Saturday, September 2 with two matches. Montclair faces Alfred University at 11:00 am followed by a 1:00 pm matchup with Augsburg.
