CARLY WATERMAN totaled 21 kills in two matches as Montclair State split its final two matches at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday. The Red Hawks (1-3) swept past Alfred University before suffering a three-set loss to Augsburg.
Waterman collected 10 kills along with six digs as the Red Hawks got past the Saxons 30-28, 25-21, 25-16. Freshman
LEAH HIGGINS added five kills with
CAITLIN LANGE (four blocks) and
JILLIAN WILSON each adding four. Setters
ASHLEY GRIFFITH and
MEGAN O'ROURKE recorded 18 and 12 assists respectively while
ALEXANDRA CAMPOS and
KATELYN MONAGHAN each recording nine digs.
Waterman hit double figures in kills for the third time with 11 in addition to four digs.
NATALIA MAJKUT had five kills. Griffith had a double-double of 21 assists and 12 digs. Campos led the Red Hawks with 12 digs with
SIYARA HERBERT putting up 11 digs.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, September 5 with its home opener at the Panzer Athletic Center. The Red Hawks host College of Mount St. Vincent with first serve scheduled for 7:00 pm.
