Mobley's Double-OT Goal Keeps No. 9 Field Hockey Unbeaten

Red Hawks Slip Past Skidmore 3-2 for 6-0 Start

Saratoga Springs, NY – Senior KYRA MOBLEY scored her first career goals, and it was an important one as No. 9 Montclair State remained unbeaten with a 3-2 victory at Skidmore College on Saturday.

Mobley scored 6:22 into the second overtime period as the Red Hawks upped their record to 6-0 on the first leg of their weekend trip to Upstate New York. Montclair faces RPI in Troy, NY on Sunday at 1:30 pm.

Montclair had taken a 1-0 lead late in the first half as VICTORIA ROSSI collected her third goal of the season, rerouting a feed from Elizabeth Cimillucca with 4:27 left in the opening half. T

The Thoroughbreds (2-3) scored the next two as Gabby Hyman found the back of the cage at 54:22 with Emily Richmond putting Skidmore in front with 3:40 play on a high shot to the right side. Montclair knotted the game 71 seconds later. AMBER HASLETT received a ball on the right side and beat both a defender and the keeper making the score 2-2.

MSU had a chance to win the game in regulation however Haslett's shot with five ticks left hit the post and a HANNAH BOLLINGER shot at the horn was stopped by Skidmore's Elizabeth Coughlin.

Both Coughlin and NICOLE ANDRIANI made key stops in the first OT. Coughlin had two including a save against KAILEY DALGAUER with six seconds left in the period.

Andriani would come up big for MSU in the second overtime with consecutive saves off penalty corners. Coughlin too registered a pair of saves however Mobley got the game-winning chipping in a shot off a deflection.

Andriani would finish with seven saves for Montclair State, which held a 19-14 advantage in shots.
