KAITLYN PRESTINARI scored twice while senior
AMBER HASLETT picked up a goal and assist as ninth-ranked Montclair State moved to 7-0 on the season with a 4-2 victory at Rensselaer on Sunday afternoon.
ELIZABETH CIMILLUCA added a goal and assist as the Red Hawks opened the season with seven consecutive wins for the second straight year.
Prestinari gave Montclair State a 1-0 lead at the 17:16 mark with her second off the season off an assist from Haslett.
KAILEY DALGAUER fed Cimillucca for the second goal seven minutes later however the Engineers (0-6) were
able to halve the lead to 2-1 before halftime on a goal by Kaitlyn Stulen.
Prestinari opened the scoring in the second half netting her second of the game from Haslett with the latter widening the lead to 4-1 with 17:03 left. Mikaela DiBello scored for RPI six minutes later however that would be the last shot the hosts would get the remainder of the contest.
NICOLE ANDRIANI finished with three saves for Montclair State, which outshot RPI 27-11 in the contest. MSU also held a 12-6 advantage in penalty corners.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, September 19 as they head to Poughkeepsie, NY to face Vassar College at 7:00 pm.
