Montclair, NJ – Junior
JOSE HUERTA scored 14 seconds into the match as Montclair State continued the onslaught in the first half as the Red Hawks blanked New Rochelle 8-0 at MSU Soccer Park on Saturday.
GRIFFIN BACON netted a pair of goals as Montclair picked up its first win of the season (1-0-1). Huerta,
RAFAEL TERCI,
CHAZ BURNETT,
NIXON SOGLO and
MATT NETO each registered a goal and assist in the victory.
Terci collected a loose ball off the opening kickoff and served a long pass down the left side to Huerta, who drove in along the left side before blasting a shot across to the far post for a 1-0 MSU lead. The two reversed roles on the second goal 10 minutes later and Soglo's tally at 21:01 made it 3-0.

SEBASTIAN CORTES in the 33
rd minute and Burnett scored 24 seconds later extending the lead to 5-0. Bacon recorded the first of his two scored at 35:13 and followed that up six minutes later off an assist from
JUAN CARLOS MERINO as Montclair State led 7-0 at halftime.
MATT NETO got the final goal in the 63
rd minute as he ripped a shot inside the right post after
CONNOR GNIEWEK served the ball into the middle of the box.
MIKE SAALFRANK, Zach Boble and
JAMES HART combined on the shutout for the Red Hawks with Hart making the lone save. Elijah Robinson had eight for New Rochelle (1-1).
Montclair makes a quick turnaround for its next game. The Red Hawks host Brooklyn College at MSU Soccer Park on Monday, September 3 at Noon.
