Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's soccer team received goals from four different players as the Red Hawks blanked New Paltz in its home opener on Wednesday evening, 4-0.

LEXINGTON WOLF each found the back of the net for the Red Hawks, who improved to 2-0-1 on the year. The game marked the first meeting between MSU and New Paltz (0-3) since the 1999 campaign.
DeGeyter gave Montclair a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute as she converted penalty kick for the first goal of her career. McLelland added to the lead with an unassisted tally in the 19
th minute as the Red Hawks took the two-goal advantage into the break.
Beenders made it 3-0 three-plus minutes into the second half flipping in a shot off a scramble in front of the goal. Wolf got the final goal with 25:24 remaining, banging in a loose ball inside the 6 yardline.
Freshman goalkeeper
LINDSAY FREEWALT made three saves in recording her second shutout this season. MSU outshot the Hawks 24-9 in the game and took four of the five corner kicks in the contest.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Sunday, September 9 at home against Frostburg State. The game is schedule for a 1:00 pm start.
