Brooklyn, NY – Montclair State dropped its non-conference match 3-0 against NYU on Thursday evening. Abby Ausmus led the way for NYU with a team-high 10 kills.
CARLY WATERMAN paced the Red Hawks with 10 kills as Montclair State dropped to 14-5 on the year. The Violets (16-5) posted game scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-16 en route to the victory
Waterman recorded a double double in the loss as she chipped in with 11 digs.
LEAH HIGGINS chipped in with seven kills as Montclair was limited to a .069 hitting percentage in the loss.
Trying to push a fourth set, the Red Hawks came out hard in the third, quickly going up 10-9. The Violets were able to rally back, going on a 4-1 run to secure the victory.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Saturday with two more matches. Montclair will host Kenyon at 11 a.m. followed by Moravian at 3 p.m. at the Panzer Athletic Center.
