LEAH HIGGINS posted 15 kills leading Montclair State to a 3-0 win at William Paterson on Thursday evening.
MEGAN O'ROURKE totaled 35 assists to go along with nine kills as the Red Hawks (17-6, 4-3 NJAC) upended the Pioneers (9-9, 1-5) by the scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-21. MSU now has nine-straight wins against William Paterson.
William Paterson led 14-11 in the first set before Montclair spent its first timeout. The Red Hawks responded from the stoppage with a 4-0 spurt that gave them a 15-14 lead.
LEAH HIGGINS capped off a 9-2 run to give MSU a 20-16 lead in the first set. Montclair went on to win five of the final six points to start the match with a 1-0 lead.
The Pioneers grabbed an early lead in the second set as well, holding a 9-6 lead early on. Montclair would claim a 14-12 lead in the second and never relinquish the lead. The Red Hawks had another strong close, scoring six of the final seven points in the set.
MSU closed the match with another late surge to sweep the conference matchup. With MSU leading 21-20, the Red Hawks went on a 4-1 run to earn the win.

MADDIE VALKO registered nine digs in the win.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, October 22 for another NJAC match. Montclair travels to face Rutgers-Newark with first serve set for 7:00 pm.
