MICHAEL KNAPP scored goals as Montclair State knocked off William Paterson, 2-0 in NJAC play on Wednesday evening.
Kolodziej's first goal of the season put the Red Hawks up for good in the first as the Red Hawks improved to 8-4 on the season and 1-2 in the NJAC. Thomas Hatch made four saves for the Pioneers (4-4-2, 1-1-1 NJAC.
The Senior put MSU on the board in the 27th minute as he was able to finish a beautiful cross into the box from
FRANK ORAMAS as the game went to the half at 1-0.
Montclair would extend its lead to 2-0 after Knapp hit a laser from just outside the box into the bottom right corner. The goal was the second on the year for the Sophomore.
The Red Hawks would preserve the lead and only allow William Paterson to register four shots on net over the 90 minutes. MSU outshot the Pioneers 17-15 in the game.
MICHAEL MEJIA got the victory as he recorded four saves in the shutout. The Red Hawks have outscored it opponents 33-1 in its seven games at home.
Montclair State returns to MSU Soccer Park Saturday, October 5 when it takes on Rutgers-Newark at 7:00 pm.
