Auburndale, FL – Nate Tellier doubled home the game-winning run with one out in the bottom of the ninth as UMass Dartmouth slipped past Montclair State, 6-5 in the RussMatt Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
Tellier went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and also picked up the victory in relief for the Corsairs, who evened their record at 4-4 on the season. Senior 
NICK MARTINEZ drove in a pair of runs while 
KYLE FORCINI belted a homer for MSU (3-4), which dropped its third straight contest.
UMD put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. JR DiSarcina opened the inning with a single, went to second on a balk and third on a base hit before scoring on a wild pitch. Matt Knell followed with an RBI single bringing home Chris Wood for the 2-0 lead.
The Red Hawks would cut the lead to 2-1 in the second as

MATTHEW MANNING. Martinez put MSU in front the following inning with a two-run double bringing home 
DANIEL CLEMENTE and 
PETER COSENTINO. UMass Dartmouth answered back in its half with three runs. Tellier got the first on a ground-rule double with Knell stroking a two-run single for a 5-3 lead.
Forcini trimmed the deficit to a run in the seventh with a home run over the right field fence, the first of his collegiate career. Montclair tied the game in the ninth. 
JOE NORTON singled to open the inning however Tellier got the next two batters. Down to its final out, Clemente tripled up the gap in right center scoring pinch-runner 
BRODY LABBE knotting the score at 5-5.
In the bottom of the ninth, Jon Candiales reached on a throwing error and after an out, went to second on Wood's base hit to right. Tellier then delivered the game-winning run.
Tellier (1-0) got the victory allowing two hits and a run with three strikeouts. 
JUSTIN KOSINSKI (0-1) took the loss for Montclair. Cosentino, Clemente and Martinez each had two hits for the Red Hawks.
Montclair State closes out its trip on Friday, March 15 with a 10:15 am game against Lawrence University.
