MATT HAEMMERLE and
JESSE JAMES WEST combined for eight goals as Montclair State registered its third straight victory with a 9-5 win over Drew University at Sprague Field on Saturday afternoon.

JACK CARDEW finished with 13 saves as the Red Hawks improved to 3-2 on the season. Kyle MacDonnell scored three times for Drew, which fell to 0-5 on the season. MSU knocked off the Rangers for the sixth consecutive meeting upping its record to 18-13 in the all-time series.
A low-scoring first half, Montclair got on the board first as Haemmerle netted the first of his four goals 1:16 into the contest. MacDonnell answered 29 seconds later and then gave Drew the lead late in
the period scoring with 16 seconds remaining for the 2-1 lead.
West provided all the scoring in the second tying the game at 2-2 with 10:56 to play. He then finished off a Haemmerle feed with 5:35 to go as Montclair led 3-2 at halftime.
The Red Hawks opened up the second half with the first two goals 23 seconds apart. West scored with just over 13 minutes left and Haemmerle finished off a break with Michael Ferindandi extending MSU's lead to 5-2. After Seamus O'Connor answered for Drew, West and Haemmerle scored back-to-back putting MSU in front 7-3.
MacDonnell's goal trimmed the lead to three goals, however Sean Stadltlander's goal with 2:23 left sent the Red Hawks into the fourth with an 8-4 advantage. O'Connor got the first goal of the final period for Drew before Haemmerle rounded out the scoring with under three minutes left.
TIM KIRN forced three turnovers and picked up two ground balls for Montclair while Ferninandi and
CARTER GILPIN each posting two caused turnovers apiece. Haemmerle, Cardew and
DAN BELLEZZA had four ground balls apiece.
Montclair State is now off until Sunday, March 17 when it travels to Maryland to face No. 2 ranked Salisbury.
