Ewing, NJ – Alex Fitpatrick scored four times and No. 15 The College of New Jersey saw four other players score multiple goals as the Lions knocked off Montclair State 14-3 in the NJAC opener for both teams on Saturday.
Olivia Cleale, Kathleen Jaeger, Kasey Donoghue and Talia Bouzakis each had two goals as the Lions (5-4, 1-0 NJAC) scored the first 10 goals of the contest.

CHELSEA ORBAN had a goal apiece for the Red Hawks (6-6, 0-1 NJAC).
The Lions outshot MSU 26-5 in the first half and led 2-0 with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half. Bouzakis and Fitzpatrick scored 38 seconds apart for the two-goal advantage. Cleale found the back of the net two minutes later and consecutive goals by Jaeger boosted the lead to 6-0 with 7:42 left in the first. Fitzpatrick collected her second with 3:15 to play as TCNJ led 7-0 at the half.
Bouzakis opened the second half with her second goal and scores by Cleale and Donoghue 43 seconds apart made it 10-0 with 25:30 remaining. Andreula got the Red Hawks on the board with 19 minutes remaining however the Lions recorded the next three, including back-to-back goals by Fitzpatrick for a 13-1 advantage with 10 minutes left.
LEANNE MCCLOSKEY finished with five draws for MSU while Costigan added three along with three ground balls.
AMANDA MAGUIRE made 10 saves in the first half with
ALLYN LILIEN totaling six over the final 30 minutes.
Montclair State is back in action on Tuesday, April 9 as it will be on the road again. The Red Hawks will be in Union to face Kean University at 7:00 pm.
