MATT NETO recorded his first career hat trick scoring three times as No. 6 Montclair State rolled past Marywood University 8-0 in its season opener at MSU Soccer Park on Friday afternoon.
Freshman forward
OSCAR SANCHEZ added a pair of goals in his collegiate debut as Montclair (1-0) scored five times in the opening half to give head coach Todd Tumelty his 139
th career victory tying Brian Sentowski on the all-time wins list at Montclair State.

JOSE HUERTA got MSU on the board six second shy of the 12-minute mark as he converted a penalty kick after being fouled inside the box along the end line. The Red Hawks then scored four times in the final seven minutes, including two by Neto. His first came off an

KRISTO BOCI scored his first collegiate goal as
CHASE EALY served a ball into the middle with Boci heading it over the keeper with 2:43 to go before half. Ealy would set up Neto with 57 seconds remaining before
DIMITRI MATARAS blasted in a shot from 15 yards out 24 seconds later sending MSU into the break in front 5-0.

th minute as he headed in a perfect crossing pass from
STEFAN KOROMAN. Sanchez notched the last two with Koroman picking up an assist on the first.
Junior
MICHAEL MEJIA got the shutout in his Montclair State debut. The Red Hawks outshot the Pacers (0-1), 25-2. Darren Hyde stopped eight shots for Marywood.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Saturday, August 31 with a 7:00 pm contest against St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn).
