KELLY WATSON scored the other goal for MSU, which remained unbeaten at 5-0 on the season. Montclair improved to 11-1 overall against its in-state rival including victories in each of the last 10 meetings.
Cimilluca's goal capped off a frenzied final minutes of the second overtime Ducks goalkeeper Emily Franco stopped
KELLIE VIZZUSO with 2:42 remaining and then did it again with 21 seconds left on a penalty corner. Following the stop, Stevens was whistled again for another corner and this time MSU capitalized. Vizzuso inserted the ball to Watson, who flicked the feed over to Cimilluca on the wing. The junior then ripped a shot to the far right post for her first goal of the season.
Watson gave Montclair State a 1-0 lead just 2:49 into the contest with her third of the season. Cimilluca drove and flipped a ball toward the cage that was blocked. The ball took a fortuitous bounce in front to Watson, who hit the back of the cage inside the left post.
That's the way the game would stay until the third quarter when Stevens knotted the game on a goal by Ireland Twaney, her first of the season. Michaela Thompson sent a shot from the top down low. Tawney was able to collect the blocked attempt at five yard, spun around to her left and flipped a shot inside the led post tying the game at 1-1 with 7:02 left in the third.
The Red Hawks are now off until Wednesday, September 18 when they return to action against sixth-ranked Vassar College.
