Poughkeepsie, NY – Montclair State head volleyball coach Eddie Stawinski became the all-time winningest coach in program history as Montclair State defeated host Vassar College in three sets on Friday evening.
Stawinski earned his 160
th career victory as his Red Hawks disposed of the Brewers 25-23, 25-19 and 25-19. Now in his ninth season, Stawinski surpassed Sandy Sanchez-Lombeyda (1996-2005) for the top spot and has a career mark of 160-108 that includes three appearances in the NJAC Championship Match, the league title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2016.
LEAH HIGGINS led the Red Hawk with 13 kills while classmate
CARLY WATERMAN added 12.
VICTORIA TENNON chipped in with eight kills and four blocks. Setter
MEGAN O'ROURKE posted 34 assists with
SIYARA HERBERT leading the way with 17 digs.
ALEXANDRA CAMPOS served three aces and recorded eight digs.
The Red Hawks finish out the Vassar Invitational on Saturday, September 21 with two matches. Montclair takes on Medialle at 12:00 pm before ending the day with a 2:30 match against Nazareth.
