Montclair, NJ – Senior diver
IAN JOHNSON set the school record in the 1-meter dive as both the Montclair State men and women's swimming and diving teams topped William Paterson University Saturday.
The men's side won 117-86, as the women earned a 122-96 victory. The Montclair State men have now won 10 straight meets against the Pioneers, while the women upped their winning streak to 11.
Johnson set records in both the 1-meter six dives and the 1-meter 11 dives. During the six dives, he scored 227.55 points before upping his total to 385.425 over 11 dives.
The MSU men claimed first-place in seven individual events and one relay, opening the day with a first-place time of 1:45.92 in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet of

TYLER DORSETT,
SAMUEL GOLOVIN, and
MITCHELL LAYNE took the top spot, with
CHRYSTIAN MUHLEISEN,
MATTHEW CIATTARELLI,
ALY ABDELHAMEED, and
STEPHEN BARNARD were right behind in 1:45.96.
Layne captured two individual crowns on the day, picking up first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.91 and the 200-yard butterfly in 2:07.42. He was especially dominant in the butterfly, winning by nearly 28 seconds.
ZACHARIAH WOLTMAN won the 1,000-free, touching the wall in 10:59.71 before Ciattarelli grabbed second place in the 50-free in 24.67.
Dorsett took home two first-place finishes as well, as he won the 200-IM in 2:04.85 before touching the wall in 50.26 in the 100-free. After finishing behind Layne in the 200-free, Barnard won the 200-back in 2:04.47 as Muhleisen was second. Golovin closed out the scoring on the men's side with a win in the 500-free. He finished in 5:05.8 with Karback behind him in 5:13.01.
The Montclair women also took the top two places in the opening 200-yard medley relay.

CLAIRE LUIGARD,
MOLLY GRAY, and
TAYLOR WADDLETON taking second in 1:58.92.
Jackie Grayson outlasted her competitors by nearly 1:06 in the 1,000-free en route to a first-place time of 12:02.29. Barrett and Ciaravino went 1-2 in the 200-free, with Barrett taking the top spot in 2:06.89.
Rothamel won the 50-free in 26.89 as Zimmerman was second in 27.23 before
CAMRYN VOGEL won the 200-IM in 2:24.31. Gray was second in that event, while Waddleton took second in the 200-fly in 2:35.02. Franke was first in the 100-free in 56.91, as Zimmerman earned the top-time in the 200-back in 2:20.23. Rothamel made it two first-place times on the day, as she won the 500-free in 5:37.88 with Waddleton just behind her in 5:39.49.
PONSEE IBRAHIM was the lone diver on the women's side, notching a six dive score of 209.77 and an 11-dive tally of 370.94.
Before the meet, the Red Hawks honored seniors Franke, Ibrahim, Luigard,

MARGAUX WINCHOCK, Zimmerman,
KEVIN GIBSON, Layne, and Johnson in a Senior Day ceremony.
The Red Hawks return to the pool on Wednesday, January 29, when they host Vassar College at 6 pm.
