Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team visits No. 4 Kean University in New Jersey Athletic Conference play Tuesday.

The Red Hawks fell to York College (PA) 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Rookie GAB MAISTO knocked in her own rebound with 7:54 remaining to trim the deficit to one goal, but the Red Hawks were unable to find the tying goal. Goalkeeper LAUREN PICKUL made four saves in the setback.

SCOUTING KEAN
The Cougars enter the game with a 14-1 record, their only blemish coming against then-No. 12 Rowan University on October 9. They rebounded from that setback with a 2-0 victory over No. 13 TCNJ Saturday, only their second win all-time against The Lions. Megan Keeney opened the scoring 41 seconds in before Lia DiPiazza capped off the scoring in the 53rd minute.

LAST MEETING
Montclair fell 4-0 to Kean on March 17, 2021. Goalkeeper LAUREN PICKUL denied 14 Cougar shot attempts in that game, while LINDSEY BICHER notched a shot on goal.

SERIES HISTORY
Montclair is 49-20-6 all-time against Kean, but the Cougars have won the last three meetings. Montclair's previous victory came in 2018, as they picked up a 3-1 decision. MSU had won 14 consecutive matchups behind the two local rivals from 1997-2007, with Kean snapping the skid with a 3-2 win in 2008.
