Women's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Washington College

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team opens its season Saturday by taking on Washington College (Md.)

GAME INFO
Tipoff is scheduled for 4 pm in York, Pa., with live stats and video links available on montclairathletics.com. The matchup is the second in the opening round of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, as the first one sees host York facing Penn State Abington.

2021 REWIND
The Red Hawks finished last season with an 8-2 mark and went 6-0 during the NJAC Regular Season. They advanced to the NJAC Championship Game but fell to eventual champ NJCU 64-60. Then-sophomore NICKIE CARTER poured in 24 points, and six steals off the bench in the setback.

SCOUTING THE SHOREWOMEN
Last Saturday, Washington College won their first contest of the year, topping Notre Dame of Maryland 71-51. Andrea Prestianne led the way with 17 points, while Kiersten Rose notched a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds off the bench.

LAST MEETING
In their only previous meeting, Montclair knocked off Washington College 67-49 on December 29, 2012. Nicosia Henry led the team with 16 points, five rebounds, and five steals, while Janitza Aquino added 11 points.
