Lancaster, Pa. – The Montclair State swimming and diving teams opened up the three-day Franklin and Marshall Invitational Friday evening.
The women's team is ninth overall with 81 points through the first day, while the men's team is eighth with 101 points.
Sophomore
RYAN KAPPES qualified for the "B" finals in the 500-freestyle with his preliminary time of 4:51.99 during the morning session. Kappes turned in a mark of 4:54.71 in the finals, which was good for a 16th place time. Gomes also qualified for a "B" final, placing 13th in the 50-yard freestyle. The time was .29 seconds than his preliminary time in the morning. The team closed out the evening session by touching the wall at 3:42.29 in the 400-medley relay.

JOHN ENGLERT, and Karback notched a time of 3:42.29.
Boguslawska qualified for the "C" finals in the 50-free. She clocked in at 25.49, which was good for 24th place and .24 quicker than her preliminary time. The Red Hawks ended the evening by having two quartets score in the 400-medley relay.
EMILY ROTHAMEL, Brock, Boguslawska, and Skopp-Cardillo took 15th in 4:12.06 as
ERIN BARRETT,
CAMRYN VOGEL,
GIANNA ANTONELLI, and Ciaravino were 18th in 4:20.61.
The Red Hawks resume action at the F&M Invitational tomorrow, with the preliminary round starting at 10 am.
