Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team opens New Jersey Athletic Conference action against Kean University Tuesday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks fell to Stevens 69-54 on Saturday afternoon. KENDALL HODGES led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds, while TRISHA PETERSON tallied seven boards and three steals. Montclair led by four at halftime but was outscored 41-22 in the second half.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
The Cougars enter the game with a 2-4 mark but are coming off a 64-58 victory over Brooklyn College Friday. They hit a season-high 13 three-pointers, including six from Shannon McCoy. Both Montclair State and Kean have struggled against Stevens, with both teams falling by double-digits.
 
LAST MEETING
Montclair won 56-52 in the NJAC Semifinals last March. In the third quarter, Kean led by eight early, but the Red Hawks used a 28-7 run to open up a 15-point lead. The Cougars rattled off 14 straight points to get within one, but TAYLOR BROWN hit a three with 31 seconds to extend the lead to the final four-point margin.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 56-34 all-time against the Cougars, including the last four games. From January 13, 1993-January 30, 1999, Montclair had picked up wins in 14 consecutive matchups. Kean's biggest winning streak came in the '80s, winning 10 straight from 1985-1989.
