Women's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Ramapo

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team hosts Ramapo College in their home opener Wednesday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
Last Tuesday, the Red Hawks were downed by Kean 69-61 in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener. Sophomore MEGAN DUFFY tallied a career-high 22 points, while senior TRISHA PETERSON snared a career-best 17 rebounds in the setback.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
Ramapo enters with a 3-1 mark and an 0-1 record in the NJAC. After notching 20+ point wins over Sarah Lawrence, Centenary, and John Jay, the Roadrunners were clipped by William Paterson 64-62 in their NJAC opener Tuesday. Olivia Johnstone led Ramapo with 22 points while Alie Wickersheim paced the way with 11 rebounds.
LAST MEETING
After not meeting during the 2021 season, the Red Hawks notched a 66-47 triumph over the Roadrunners on January 29, 2020. NICKIE CARTER tallied 20 points while TAYLOR BROWN and Cerys MacLelland each grabbed 10 boards. MacLelland also handed out a game-high nine assists in the victory.
SERIES HISTORY
The Red Hawks are 59-9 all-time against Ramapo, including 18 consecutive victories. Ramapo's last win came on February 5, 2011, as they picked up a 69-60 victory in Mahwah. All nine of Ramapo's victories have been by 10 points or less, with Montclair averaging 67.4 points per game all-time.
