Women's Basketball: Game Day Preview vs. Mary Washington

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State women's basketball team will face the University of Mary Washington in the Championship Game of the MSU Holiday Tournament Thursday.
 
TOURNAMENT INFO
The Red Hawks (5-5) and Mary Washington will face off at 4 pm in the Panzer Athletic Center, while Neumann and Misericordia will battle in the Consolation Game at 2 pm. LAST TIME OUT
The Red Hawks outscored Neumann 41-20 in the second half to top the Knights 67-40 in the opening game of their home opponent. Senior JULIA SUTTON poured in 23 points, while TRISHA PETERSON tallied 11 rebounds, six assists, and three steals in the victory.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
On Wednesday, the Eagles battled back from a two-point halftime deficit to top Misericordia 68-52. Keagan Schwab scored 19 points while Jordan Carpenter grabbed 10 rebounds. Mary Washington also forced 25 Misericordia turnovers in the win.
 
SERIES HISTORY
In their only previous meeting, Montclair topped Mary Washington 62-53 on December 29, 2008. In a game that was played in St. Thomas, Catherine Cristino led the Red Hawks with 13 points as Kisandra Ayanbeku notched a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.
 
UP NEXT
The Red Hawks close out non-conference play on Monday as they host Salisbury at 4 pm.
