Immaculata, PA. – Playing for the first time in nearly a year, the Montclair State women's lacrosse team cruised to a 17-4 win over Immaculata University Saturday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs got on the board first, opening the scoring just 1:13 in as Tessa Liberatoscioli converted a free-position attempt. Claire Eckels answered back for the Red Hawks nearly three minutes later, as the Red Hawks would net the next five markers. HALEY DORAN added two goals during the spurt, including a man-down goal.

Immaculata stopped the run with 12:11 left, but senior BRITTANY COSTIGAN won the next draw and 17 seconds later scored off a feed from classmate MEGAN MAHLSTADT to extend the lead back to four. The Red Hawks closed the first half with the final five tallies, with junior TRISTIN KONEN adding three goals during the run.

Montclair State held a 24-6 edge in shots over the first half and were a perfect 8-for-8 on clears in the first 30 minutes.

Costigan added her second of the afternoon exactly one minute into the second stanza before Konen closed her account on the day with a tally 13 ticks later. Doran completed her hat-trick with 19:19 left in the period before MAEVE CARNEY and Connon each notched their second goals of the day on free-position shots. Goalkeeper ALLYN LILIEN held the Mighty Macs to just one goal in the second half, making two saves and forcing two turnovers in the final period.

Konen finished with four goals on six shots, while Mahlstadt handed out three assists. Nine different Red Hawks recorded at least one goal, while Costigan had 15 draw controls. Led by four from KARLI NEVARD, Montclair State forced 20 turnovers overall.
