Men's Lacrosse Breezes Past Centenary 22-3

Hackettstown, NJTYLER MCCREERY continued his hot stretch and pumped in eight points as the Montclair State men's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-3 win over Centenary.

The Red Hawks (6-3, 3-1 CSAC) have outscored their past three opponents 61-9 in going 3-0. TYLER MCCREERY led MSU with four goals, as Montclair had 11 different goal scorers on the afternoon.

The McCreery brothers had a hand in the first five goals, with Tyler scoring three and adding an assist while Mike had a goal and an assist. Much like the past two games, the Red Hawks rode a robust first quarter en route to the win. They led 11-1 after one, with AIDAN MAXWELL adding a pair of goals during the stretch and ROBERT BRENNAN notching a goal and two helpers. Freshman CHRIS MARRA his first career multi-goal outing, as he scored twice during the first half.

The Red Hawks outshot Centenary 25-10 in the first half while winning 15-of-16 face-off opportunities.

Montclair State reeled off the first goals of the second half, with CHRISTIAN BOYLE capping off a hat-trick with 5:37 left in the fourth quarter. DJ BARANIUK added a late goal, finishing off his second multi-goal effort in three games. The Cyclones were the last team to put a goal in, as Timothy Kaiser scored an unassisted goal with 1:12 left to establish the final margin.

TYLER MCCREERY now has 18 points over his last two games, adding four assists today to go along with his four goals. MIKE MCCREERY and Brennan each handed out a trio of assists, while PADRAIC FINNEGAN caused three turnovers. Montclair State won all but one faceoff, as DARIO SIRNI, ANDREA FIORENZA, and DAVID DRISCOLL combined to go 19-of-19.

The Red Hawks return to action Saturday, hitting the road to take on Rosemont for a 1 pm game.
