Montclair, NJ – Senior guard TAYLOR BROWN was named to d3hoops.com Atlantic/Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team. It is the second honor this week for the 2021 NJAC Player of the Year, who was chosen to the Division III All-Met Team by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association on Monday.

Brown, a First-Team All-NJAC selection, helped the Red Hawks to an 8-2 mark this season and a second consecutive conference championship game. Brown averaged 12.2 points and 7.0 rebounds while handing out 25 assists and recording 14 steals. She also connected on 28 three-point field goals.

The Trumbull, Conn. native was 10th in the NJAC in scoring, eighth in rebounding, ninth in assists, third in blocks, and 11th in steals per game. Brown also led the NJAC with a .384 three-point field goal percentage and was tops in the conference with 2.8 made three-pointers per game.

Brown scored a career-best with 25 points against Kean and tied the school record with seven made three-pointers. She scored in double figures four times and posted double-doubles in back-to-back wins over Kean and New Jersey City. In the NJAC Championship game, she scored 17 points and added three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The award is another in the outstanding career for Brown, who finished with 792 points, 491 rebounds, 139 assists, 97 steals and 54 blocked shots. In addition, Brown connected 167 times from behind the three-point arc, third all-time on MSU list with her .373 percentage ranking No. 2.

Players for the d3hoops.com All-Region teams were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. Because of the pandemic, some regions had limited numbers of teams which played and were combined for awards purposes. Teams had to play a minimum of five games to make their players eligible.
